Panathinaikos's demand for part of the park in Goudi, in order for them to build their new stadium, has raised many opposing voices this last month, especially from environmentalists. A few days ago the mayor of Athens came up with a new proposal. Mr. Dimitris Avramopoulos suggested the area of
ELEONAS (about 2 km west of the city centre). Panathinaikos officials said that they need to examine the economic feasibility of a stadium at this new site, but their first reactions to the proposal were positive.
