| Location:
This indoor hall is located in the Nea Smyrni district, 4 km south
of the Athens city centre, at the intersection of Artakis and Ethnikis
Stegis streets. The best way to get there is by using the tram

data: Nea Smyrni Indoor Hall is not suitable today for a club
like Panionios. It is very small, looks really outdated and lacks
modern amenities for both the fans and the athletes. This is why the
club and the local authorities have long been asking for it to be
replaced. This may happen either by the total reconstruction and expansion
of the existing building or by the construction of a new arena somewhere
in the vicinity. Plans above depict a new modern arena with a capacity
of approximately 5,000 spectators. The cost for its construction (which
is most likely to be state-funded) is estimated at € 5 million. The indoor hall is owned by the Municipality of Nea Smyrni. |
