July 3rd, 2001 A UEFA delegation inspected the premises of the "APOSTOLOS NIKOLAIDIS" STADIUM last week, to judge whether it will be capable to host Champions League games of the next season. Their conclusion was that major improvements are necessary, the most important having to do with the press and TV facilities and the stadium’s lighting. The works will be carried out by Panathinaikos FC and will cost 300 million GrD (about $750,000).
